Set up email alerts

Add an email alert destination in Uptime Tracker. Your own sign-in address works immediately; other addresses confirm through a link before alerts start.

  1. Open IntegrationsIn the sidebar, go to Integrations. The Destinations tab opens.
  2. Choose EmailUnder "Add a destination", find Email and choose "Set up Email".
  3. Enter name and addressGive the destination a Name and enter the Email address that should receive alerts.
  4. SaveChoose "Add destination".
  5. Confirm other addressesIf it is not your own sign-in address, open the confirmation link sent to that inbox.
  6. Send a testIn Configured destinations, choose "Send test" to check delivery.

Email alerts are available on every plan. Each Email destination sends alerts to one address, and you can add as many destinations as you need, for example one per teammate or a shared on-call mailbox.

Verification

Your own sign-in address is verified at once. Any other address receives a confirmation link first, and the destination stays pending until someone opens it. Pending destinations receive no alerts. If the email went missing, use Resend confirmation in the destination list.

What you receive

By default every verified, enabled shared destination receives:

  • a down alert when a monitor's failure is confirmed and an incident opens,
  • a recovered notification when the monitor comes back.

Each alert includes the monitor name, a redacted target and the reason. If you use routing rules (Starter and higher), only the destinations chosen by the matching rules receive the alert.

Shared and personal destinations

When adding a destination, you can tick Personal destination — only notify me when I am on call. Personal destinations belong to you and are used only by escalation policies when you are the on-call responder (Team plan). Leave it unchecked for a normal shared destination.

Managing destinations

In Configured destinations you can Send test, Pause or Resume, Rename and Delete. The address cannot be edited in place: create a new destination, then delete the old one.

The Deliveries tab shows every notification attempt with its state, so you can check whether an alert went out.

Tips for reliable delivery

  • Allow-list email from uptimetracker.live so alerts are not filtered as spam.
  • Combine email with a chat or push channel so you see alerts quickly.
  • For a team inbox, add the shared address and confirm it once.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I send alerts to several email addresses?

Yes. Add one Email destination per address. Addresses other than your sign-in address must confirm through a link.

Why am I not receiving alerts at a new address?

It is probably still pending. Open the confirmation link in that inbox, or use Resend confirmation in Integrations.

Do I get an email when the site comes back up?

Yes. Destinations receive a recovery notification when the incident resolves.
