Visitors can subscribe to a status page by email and receive public incident updates without checking the page. Subscriptions use double opt-in and every email has a one-click unsubscribe link.
How visitors subscribe
Every public status page has a subscribe form. A visitor enters an email address and receives a confirmation email. They become a confirmed subscriber only after they open the link (double opt-in). This keeps your list clean and protects people from being signed up by someone else.
What subscribers receive
Subscribers receive the public updates you post on incidents that affect monitors shown on that page. Internal notes are never sent. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
When you publish a public update, the incident page warns you that it may be emailed to that page's subscribers, and asks you to confirm the text is safe to show publicly.
Limits per plan
| Plan | Subscribers | Status emails per month |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 50 | 500 |
| Starter | 250 | 2,500 |
| Team | 2,000 | 20,000 |
The monthly email allowance counts each email sent to each subscriber. For example, 100 subscribers and 3 public updates use 300 emails.
Manage subscribers
Open the status page and scroll to Subscribers. The counters show:
- Confirmed (receive emails)
- Pending confirmation
- Suppressed
The table lists each address with its state and when it subscribed. Addresses are never shown publicly. For each subscriber you can:
- Suppress: stop sending to the address, with an optional reason, for example after a bounce or complaint. Use Unsuppress to undo it.
- Remove: delete the subscription. The person receives no further updates but can subscribe again from the public page.
Good practice
- Write public updates for customers: what is affected, what you are doing, and when you will update next.
- Do not include internal details, customer data or credentials.
- Post a final update with the status Resolved so subscribers know the issue is over.
Deleting a status page also deletes its subscribers.
Frequently asked questions
Do subscribers need to confirm their email?
Yes. Subscriptions use double opt-in, so an address only receives updates after the person opens the confirmation link.
How many subscribers can a status page have?
Free allows 50 subscribers, Starter 250 and Team 2,000, with 500, 2,500 and 20,000 status emails per month.
Can I import a list of subscribers?
No. Visitors subscribe themselves on the public page and confirm by email.
