Microsoft Teams alerts are available on the Starter and Team plans. Uptime Tracker posts to a Teams channel through a Workflows webhook, the Power Automate-based replacement for the old Office 365 connectors.

Create the workflow in Teams

  1. In Microsoft Teams, go to the channel that should receive alerts.
  2. Open the channel's More options menu and choose Workflows.
  3. Choose the template Post to a channel when a webhook request is received.
  4. Name the workflow, confirm the team and channel, and choose Add workflow.
  5. Copy the URL that Teams shows at the end.

The URL is on *.logic.azure.com or *.powerplatform.com. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can post to the channel. Menu names in Teams change from time to time; if you cannot find Workflows in the channel menu, open the Workflows app from the Teams app bar and search for the webhook template.

Add it in Uptime Tracker

Go to Integrations, find Microsoft Teams under Add a destination and choose Set up Microsoft Teams. Enter a Name, paste the Workflows webhook URL and choose Add destination. Then choose Send test to confirm the message appears in the channel.

Legacy connector URLs

Older incoming-webhook URLs on *.webhook.office.com are accepted while Microsoft still supports them. Microsoft is retiring those connectors, so create a Workflows URL for new setups and replace legacy ones when you can.

What you receive

  • A message when a monitor's failure is confirmed, with the monitor name, a redacted target and the reason.
  • A recovery message when the monitor comes back.
  • Repeat reminders until acknowledged, if your routing rule enables them.

Troubleshooting

  • If the workflow is turned off or deleted, deliveries fail and the destination may be disabled with a reason. Create a new workflow and destination.
  • Some organizations restrict who can create workflows. Ask your Microsoft 365 administrator if the template is not available.
  • Check the Deliveries tab for the last HTTP status.

Google Chat, Pushover, ntfy, Gotify, Mattermost and Rocket.Chat are set up the same way on Starter: choose the destination type in Integrations and paste the URL or key it asks for.
