You can go from nothing to a working uptime monitor in about five minutes. Uptime Tracker uses passwordless sign-in, so all you need is an email address. The Free plan includes 2 monitors with 5-minute checks, 5 heartbeat monitors and one status page, enough to watch your most important site, and commercial use is allowed.

Sign in without a password

Sign-in works by email: we send you a one-time link and a code. Go to the sign-in page, enter your address and choose Email me a sign-in link. Open the link, or paste the code into the Sign-in code field. Links expire after 15 minutes. If the address is new, an account is created for you at this point.

If you later turn on two-factor authentication, sign-in asks for a code from your authenticator app after the email step.

Create a workspace

A workspace holds your monitors, alerts and status pages. After your first sign-in you see Welcome — create your workspace. Enter a Workspace name (your company or project) and a Time zone. The time zone is used for routing windows, reports and schedules. Choose Create workspace and add a monitor. New workspaces start on the Free plan, and you can invite teammates later.

Add your first monitor

The New monitor screen asks what to check, then how often. For a website or API, keep the HTTP(S) check type, enter a Name and the full URL (for example https://www.example.com/), and choose Create monitor. On Free the fastest interval is 300 seconds (5 minutes); Starter allows 60 seconds and Team 30 seconds.

The URL must be publicly reachable. Monitors cannot target private or internal network addresses.

Make sure someone gets alerted

A monitor without a destination records outages but tells nobody. After creating your first monitor, the Next steps box links to Add an alert destination. Open Integrations, pick a destination such as Email, Slack, Discord, Telegram or a webhook, and choose Set up. Use Send test to confirm it works.

What happens next

  • The monitor appears under Monitors with its current state, response time and uptime.
  • If checks fail, Uptime Tracker confirms the failure before opening an incident and sending alerts. See how checks and failure confirmation work.
  • When the site recovers, you get a recovery notification and the incident is resolved.
