Discord alerts are available on every plan, including Free. Uptime Tracker posts messages to a channel through a Discord webhook, which you can create if you have the Manage Webhooks permission on the server.

Create the webhook in Discord

  1. Hover over the channel that should receive alerts and choose Edit Channel (the gear icon).
  2. Open Integrations, then Webhooks, and choose New Webhook.
  3. Give it a name such as "Uptime Tracker" and check that the right channel is selected.
  4. Choose Copy Webhook URL.

The URL starts with https://discord.com/api/webhooks/ (older discordapp.com URLs are also accepted). Keep it private: anyone with it can post to the channel.

Add it in Uptime Tracker

Go to Integrations, find Discord and choose Set up Discord. Enter a Name, paste the Discord webhook URL and choose Add destination. The destination is active immediately. Choose Send test in Configured destinations to confirm the message appears.

What you get

  • A message when a monitor's failure is confirmed, with the monitor name, a redacted target and the reason.
  • A message when the monitor recovers.
  • Repeat reminders, if a routing rule enables them (Starter and higher).

Tips

  • Use a dedicated #alerts channel so alerts are not buried in conversation, and turn on notifications for that channel in Discord.
  • For separate channels per project or service, add one Discord destination per channel and use routing rules.
  • If the webhook is deleted in Discord, deliveries fail permanently and the destination is disabled with a reason. Create a new webhook and destination, then delete the old one.
  • The Deliveries tab shows each attempt and its HTTP status.

Discord rate-limits webhooks. Uptime Tracker honors Discord's retry instructions and retries failed deliveries with backoff, so a burst of alerts may arrive a little later rather than being lost.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install a Discord bot?

No. A channel webhook is enough. You only need permission to manage webhooks on that channel.

Is Discord included on the Free plan?

Yes. Discord alerts are available on every plan.

Can I mention a role when a monitor goes down?

Messages are sent as standard webhook posts without role mentions. Turn on channel notifications in Discord so you see them.
