- Open MaintenanceIn the sidebar, go to Maintenance.
- Schedule a one-off windowUnder "Schedule a window", pick the Monitor, a Note, and the Starts and Ends times in your local time.
- Choose whether to hold alertsTick "Hold alerts during the window (checks keep running)" to suppress alerts.
- SaveChoose "Schedule window".
- Or create a recurring scheduleOn Starter and Team, choose "New recurring schedule", set time zone, start time, duration, weekdays and the monitors or project, then "Save schedule".
A maintenance window tells Uptime Tracker that downtime is planned. During the window, alerts can be held, and availability reports show the time as maintenance instead of downtime. Checks keep running the whole time, so you can see when the service actually comes back.
One-off windows (all plans)
Go to Maintenance and use Schedule a window:
- Monitor: the monitor the window applies to.
- Note (optional): what the work is, for example "Database upgrade".
- Starts and Ends: entered in your local time; the form shows how long the window lasts.
- Hold alerts during the window (checks keep running): when ticked, alerts for this monitor are held. When unticked, alerts are still sent but the time is reported as maintenance.
Choose Schedule window. The list shows the 50 most recent windows, including those created by recurring schedules.
End early or cancel
For a running window, choose End now. Maintenance ends immediately, and if the monitor is still failing, alerts and incidents resume right away. For an upcoming window, choose Cancel.
Recurring weekly schedules (Starter and Team)
Choose New recurring schedule for regular work such as weekly patching:
- Name, for example "Weekly patching".
- Time zone: the schedule follows local time in this zone.
- Start time and Duration (minutes).
- Weekdays on which the window happens.
- Applies to: Selected monitors or A whole project.
- Suppress notifications during these windows and Active (creates upcoming windows).
Choose Save schedule. Editing a schedule replaces its future windows; windows already running or in the past are kept. Deleting a schedule removes its upcoming windows.
What happens after maintenance
If a monitor is still down when the window ends, the outage is treated as real: an incident opens (or continues) and alerts go out, unless the monitor recovered during the window.
Maintenance from CI
On Starter and Team, a deployment marker sent from CI can open a short maintenance window of up to 30 minutes so expected restarts do not page anyone. The CLI can also add a window: monctl maintenance add --monitor <id> --minutes 30 --note "Deploy". See API tokens and the CLI.

Does maintenance count against my uptime percentage?
No. Availability excludes maintenance windows.
Can I schedule recurring maintenance?
